Someone once told that if I eat an entire pie, I am eating a “whole food”. This article is about the health topic, natural remedies and eating whole foods. Even though you may eat a whole or half pie, this does not mean it is a whole food. In fact, the article is all on whole foods. This article has absolutely nothing to do about processed foods.
Whole food is not refined or processed. It can be eaten as it is. It’s pure and nothing else has been added. The beauty of a “whole food” is that it’s not processed. It is indeed pure. It’s just the way it was originally made. It’s because most whole foods can be eaten raw.
Although this is not an essay on raw food, or a raw diet, they do go hand in glove. In fact, whole foods can be eaten raw and also cooked. They are meant to nourish, cleanse, and heal your body. This isn’t rocket science. But we did some research on the benefits of whole foods. They can improve your lifestyle and even lower your risk of cancer. Surprise, surprise! Whole foods are exactly as they say. Whole foods are meant to heal and nourish your body.
According to any health studies that people from long ago may have conducted, the whole-food diet has existed for thousands years and humans have lived well on it. It’s only been in the last 100 or 50 years that our food has become more refined and processed with excessive sugar, alcohol meats, chemicals and additives. They were not around over 100 year ago. According to an old saying, if my grandma would eat it the way it is then it’s probably good for me. The old saying “if my grandmother eats it, it must be healthy” is no longer in fashion. Many people today opt for convenience food or processed food. This is obviously not the same as whole food. It is important that you get this right, and understand the principles behind a whole food.
If you were to look at the original, let’s say, creation, we were fed by certain foods. We had whole foods available to us. You can find whole foods in fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds and oils, grains and some eggs, honey, spices, herbs, beans and legumes. In fact, all of these can be eaten without cooking. These are symmetrical to the body. They are the same foods that make up our body, so we also have these chemicals. If you eat something else like a chemically-enhanced or processed food, your body will receive a completely different experience. You are doing something completely different to your own body. It’s supposed to be going one way, but you are giving it something else. It’s kind of like putting a round piece into a square-shaped hole. Only some of the pieces fit, but they don’t all fit perfectly. The symmetry of our food intake and DNA is important to our cells and DNA. If the match is perfect, that’s fantastic. If it’s a bad match, you will miss out on the opportunity to cleanse, heal, and feed yourself with these natural food.
We mentioned fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, oils, grains, and great fruits like grapefruit, apples, oranges, and watermelon. These foods all have specific messages for your body. It’s also important to get a good amount of vegetables and whole food. Broccoli is a great example. Asparagus, cauliflower, pumpkin and many other vegetables target specific areas of our body. What about sunflower seeds? Nuts like almonds or macadamia are also good. Olive oil or flaxseed are deposited on certain parts. A good mix of these oils can be beneficial to your health. Honey, another whole food, is a natural antibiotic and can target specific areas. You can put honey directly on a wound and not worry about infection. Honey will soothe your throat if you have a painful sore throat. Its antibacterial qualities will help prevent the spread bacteria and infections.
You may use certain spices in your everyday cooking. But did you know they were also used by ancient healers to treat various ailments before cooking? The Chinese are famous for their ancient Chinese herbal remedies. You can add boiling-water to specific herbs and spice and breathe in their aroma to help open the airways, or to heal a lesion or cut. All of these spices and herbs have specific effects on the body, and this ancient message is no exception. There is no reason why these herbs and spices can’t be used today. They are vital for our health and wellbeing. They are made to nourish our body. We should embrace that.
Whole foods also have the ability to target specific areas of your body. They are called signature foods of the body. What does that mean? It means that certain parts of the body are searching for nutrients or keys to unlock them. Certain foods in the diet can help open up the cells for certain nutrients, healing, and regeneration. Here are a couple of examples.
If you look down at a bunch hanging grapes, you will see that it is intended for a particular part of the human body. It is the signature of your blood. All the grapes cluster together, just as your blood cells do. It is also great for cleansing your blood and enriching it as an antioxidant. You have heard the word antioxidant used a lot by today’s media. The skin on grapes can be used as an antioxidant to remove free radicals, which are created by our daily activities. Even the oxidation that occurs in our bodies from food can cause some minor damage. These antioxidants are able to grab these things and remove from the body.
